in association with Mined Canon Productions and Art House Productions presents

Peep/Show the Body

Come for the peep! Stay for the body.

What's behind the glass? Take a peek. Can addressing pain be performative and entertaining? You fuckin’ bet. A completely true story: especially the lies.

In-person and livestreaming. Sliding scale: set your own price.

Created & Performed by Elizabeth Weitzen
Co-Created & Directed by Max Baudisch

From Mined Canon productions, in association with Torn Out Theater, comes a new entry in the emerging genre of pandemic theatre. Part memoirish performance art, part sleazy dance show, part bitingly sarcastic monologue, part chronic illness outreach, this new, original work is interactive when you want it to be, surreal, irreverent, wise, and intentionally crass. It's movement theatre that just might teach you a trick or two for when you’re feeling like shit. Multidisciplinary and featuring zines, mp3 downloads, a champagne room, weird dreamscapes, silly soundscapes, and dramatic medical escapes!

Take a peek through the peepholes to consider body autonomy, how to wiggle your (yes, your!) hips, cats, and how pain registers in someone else’s brain. Live at SMUSH Gallery in Jersey City and livestreaming anywhere with internet access.

Run time 75 minutes, no intermission.
Show contains adult themes, coarse language, and partial nudity. 18+ recommended.

Audience members will be sitting outdoors; please dress accordingly for the weather.
